Charr Carvings
Hi everyone, I just started playing GW like a month ago, and I just started Prophecies maybe a week ago (I started w/Factions). And my question is this:
What is up with Charr Carvings? People in Old Ascalon buy those things for 10k and up. Is it worth it to sell them at such a high price, or will they become invaluable later in the game? I just don't understand. Could someone clear it up for me? Thanks. |

Charr carvings were one of the collectibles during Wintersday events. Trade them in for other goodies. Other than that, I think they just salvage into wood.

Trading for alcohol and sweets probably.
I'll laugh my head off if Anet decide to use different items for trade instead. |

SUPERB charr carvings are from Eyes of the North, you need 250 for a collector mask/head armor. They go for 100g+ though.
Stacks of normal charr carvings would be good money though. |

Thanks for the help! I have an action plan now. I was just scared of trading them in case they were like uber rare or something.

Its true they were used in a past festival and its pretty easy for a lv20 character to solo many of the charr areas.
The flame temple mission "altheas ashes" I think it was called usually drops 20 + carvings per run, when you visit the same area later. My Ranger did that several times last festival. I know one sad person ""Me"" who still has 48 naga fangs from the tengu festival Wonder if those will come up again. |

Yeah, its probablly kinda confusing right now for a new player, but most likely people are buying them up for Halloween items, thinking that they will be used again this year.

I remember a long time ago people used to buy stacks of them to give to the collector for fur squares. But now it's just for the holidays that are coming up.

THe charr carvings are used currently for pretty bad weapons, but sooner or later for spiked eggnog, (if ANET decides to use it???)

Yeah Anet should change the collectables every year to something else so people can't horde stack and collect for the special events. Don't take less than 100gp for charr carvings though each.
